Focal Person for Project Management, Monitoring & Evaluation

Zakaria Umar Sumaila is currently the Grants Manager with BUSAC Fund (a DANIDA, DFID, USAID, EU funded project). He holds a BSc. Agricultural Economics and an M Phil. Agricultural Administration both from the University of Ghana. He was a Research Assistant at the Agricultural Economics Department, University of Ghana. He later joined the Agricultural Development Bank and moved through various ranks as Manager, IFAD projects (Kumasi), Head of Credit unit (Koforidua branch), Deputy Manager, Agricultural Credit Department (Head office). Whilst at ADB, he attended several Professional and Certificate courses at the Ghana National Banking College, Bank Penbangunan (Malaysia), Development Bank of the Philippines (UNDP sponsored), Foreign Agricultural Services (FAS), USDA, Washington DC, New Orleans New York, MERJJA Technologies, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. His special skills are; Fund Management, Project Appraisals, Proposal Writing, Feasibility Studies and Business Plan Preparation.
